freising #6: airport

only some kilometers away: a gigantic non-place. another city. Munich Airport Center (which is largely on freising grounds), including "bavarian inns" and even a brewery called "Airbräu". 30.000 are working here. freising has 42.000 inhabitants. it makes old freising-town look like a mall itself.

monument for 12 fallen soldiers in the 1870/71 war (france was the enemy). built 1906, when great parts of the real old freising were destroyed for new "historistic" architecture. while inventing its own brabd new artificial history, freising was clearly heading into the 20th century: electricity, telegraphy, motor cars.

where? at McDonalds in the non-space industrial area. McDonalds seem to have known beforehand. subversive action: everybody bought 3 cheeseburgers. police was still there, though.
